JOURNEY TO DÜSSELDORF

By public transport

Access to the exhibition centre via the East Entrance and North Entrance.

To the North Entrance

From Düsseldorf main station you can reach the Merkur Spielarena/Messe Nord stop in approx. 18 minutes via the U78 in the direction of D-Merkur Spielarena/Messe Nord and can get off there and go directly to the entrance.

To the east entrance

From Düsseldorf Central Station, you can reach the East Entrance via the U79 in the direction of Duisburg Meiderich Bf or via the U78 in the direction of D-Merkur Spielarena/Messe Nord. Get off at Messe Ost/Stockumer Kirchstraße. From there it is a short walk of approx. 9 minutes to the East Entrance.

By car

You can reach the exhibition centre via exit 30-Düsseldorf-Stockum. 

With the caravan

The exhibition car park P1 is a caravan centre with 600 pitches with power supply, which can be used during events. Overnight stays are only permitted with a valid admission ticket to the event. Payment is made via an automatic pay station with EC card or credit card.  

Price: 35 €/day with electricity 

Opening hours: 08:00 to 16:00

By plane

The quickest way to reach the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre from the Düsseldorf Airport is by underground or taxi. Information on the flight schedule and transport connections to the airport can be found on the Düsseldorf Airport website https://www.dus.com/. If you are travelling from the airport in a hire car, follow the signs to "Messe".

You will find plenty of taxis directly in front of the individual terminals.

You will find plenty of taxis at each of the open trade fair entrances. 

By long-distance bus

The rapidly growing network of long-distance bus routes within Germany enables travellers to travel to Düsseldorf at low cost.

Visa information

EU nationals, in general, do not require a visa, however most other non-German participants do.

Those who need a visa must satisfy the visa requirements of their local German Embassy/Consulate including:

  • a confirmed travel booking, including flight, train and/or bus bookings, hotel reservation and health insurance 
  • a proof of purchase your online ticket to iba (one copy of the online ticket)

Therefore, all intended visitors should first buy a online ticket. Online order offers several cost and time saving benefits as described.

For visiting iba you do not need a visa invitation letter. Your embassy/consulate nevertheless requires an invitation letter? Please contact our representative in your country.
